Birthday girl
Sid turned 2 yesterday and now I'm down to only 16 more years until she's out of the house. Here are some videos from her birthday along with other random videos from the past few months.

Summer's over
Now that summer is over, here are a few pics from our summer trip to Pawley's with Sara's family.

This summer I've been working with Sidney to develop different skills that will help her later in life. Each week i've picked a different skill and i try and help Sidney to master it. I've called these lessons "steps to become the next June Cleaver"
Right before this picture was taken Sara walked in the room and asked, "what does that machine do?"

Things I learn from mom
Over the past month or so I've noticed different things that Sidney is learning from observing her mom. Just recently she has figured out the only spot in the house where someone can find some piece and quiet.
Sara also made an attempt to teach Sid how to work the hula hoop, I actually think Sid did better than Sara.

Start of Summer
A few weekends ago we traveled to Milwaukee for a long weekend, it had been a while since I've been home so it was nice to see the old stomping grounds. Sidney also seemed to enjoy herself and really liked riding the horse at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The horse is around 40 years old, but it still delivers when it comes to fun.
This past Saturday we headed down to Penn's Landing for Philadelphia's annual week long celebration leading up to the 4th of July. We went to Taste of Philadelphia and got lunch and spent the afternoon hanging out, listening to music and playing in the park. Sidney had a fish sandwich from GiGi and Big R's food truck and washed it all down with lemonade and for dessert she had water ice and her first funnel cake. Then as usual, no park experience is complete with out bubbles, and as always, she makes a small attempt to blow bubbles but then usually just eats them.

Memorial Day weekend
We spent this Memorial Day in Pittsburgh so Sara could hang out with her sorority sisters. Doesn't that sound like a great weekend? I was able to get a free round of golf out of it, so it wasn't all bad. Plus my round of golf came with a caddy so that made it even better. It was nice to be on the other side of the bag and listen to some kid trying to kiss up for a bigger tip, "great shot sir", "nice drive sir". We didn't take a whole lot of pics or videos but here's some videos of Sid playing with Nicole's son Logan.
We returned from Pittsburgh on Sunday and spent all day Monday on the Delaware river on Sara's attending's boat. Surprisingly Sid really seemed to like the boat and hitting the wake of other boats. However, when we stopped for lunch and got out on the sand she hated the sand and refused to put her feet down. The beach this summer will be interesting.

Visit from Nana and Bud
Last weekend Sid got to spend a long weekend with Nana and Bud, they took her to the zoo and even held a sleep over at the hotel. Sid had a great time she enjoyed showing off her city, she ate dinner at some new restaurants, got to stay up late all weekend and even slept til 8:45 one morning. Nana and Bud wore her out and she wore them out too. It was a good test drive for Camp Sparty! Check out the rest of the pictures on Picasa.

Spring
Here are some recent pictures and videos from this spring. A few even show the wonderful Civil War parade we randomly came across last Saturday while taking a walk. I'm lazy so i'm putting this all into one post, and i'm not even going to attempt to make this look nice. Besides, the Flyers and Phillies are on TV right now, so i'm flipping back and forth between playoff hockey and a baseball game.

Feet first is for wimps
We finally had some decent weather in Philly so we took Sid to the playground to run around for a while. We learned that when it comes to the slide, the faster and rougher the ride the better, and there's no feet first with this one.
Bacon taste good....
We gave Sid some bacon this morning and she seemed to really enjoy it.
Then we mixed her eggs and bacon together in a bowl and here are the results.
If she keeps eating like this there is a chance she'll play middle linebacker at Wisconsin.

I love sledding!
Sidney discovered the fun of sledding this winter- thanks to all the trips to see relatives.
There was a little more snow at Amy's than at Nana and Bud's!

Gold Star
Pete and I should get a gold star for parenting today. Examples to follow. This whole walking thing has been a little rough on us.
1. As Pete and I got ready for work this morning, Sid walked face first into a wall. She has the bruise in the middle of her forehead to prove it. Not really sure what happened there, since neither of us was actually watching her.
2. After work, we're all playing in the den (ie the only room in our humble abode). Sidney and Pete decide it would be a great idea for her to walk on some pillows to get to him. Resulting in her landing face first in the side of the sofa. To the tune of a busted lip!
3. She got an extra-long bath tonight, having so much fun playing with all the new bath toys. Must of stayed in too long. Suddenly, she poops in the tub and here comes a big log floating beside her and all the toys. Nice.

Sid's new trick
I know this isn't as exciting as Oprah revealing she has a half sister, but i thought you might enjoy it. Sid spent her day with Aunt Anna, and being the great teacher that she is, Aunt Anna taught Sid the word "snake".
